IHMCL and NPCI launched OneTag FASTag portability via Rajmargyatra app

OneTag, a FASTag portability system developed by Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), was launched on 2026-09-11 at Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai. The system allows users to switch their existing NETC FASTag from one issuer bank to another without changing the physical tag, Tag ID, or vehicle registration number, and will be offered through NHAI’s Rajmargyatra mobile application.
Why it matters
It reduces friction and physical re-issuance when changing FASTag issuer banks, while keeping toll plaza processing unchanged within the NETC framework.
