Indian Navy commissions diving support vessel INS Nipun at Mumbai Naval Dockyard

The Indian Navy commissioned INS Nipun, a second indigenous Nistar-class Diving Support Vessel, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. The vessel was built by Hindustan Shipyard Limited in Visakhapatnam and had been delivered to the Navy on 2026-07-30 after outfitting and sea trials; its commissioning provides the Navy with a two-ship, two-coast deep-sea diving, underwater intervention and submarine rescue capability alongside INS Nistar on the east coast.
