KKR to acquire majority stake in Cisternina Logistics

KKR said it is acquiring a majority stake in Cisternina Logistics Pvt. Ltd., an Indian bulk liquid and gas storage and logistics business. KKR said the investment will support Cisternina’s proposed acquisition of Ganesh Benzoplast Ltd’s liquid storage terminal and rail business, and future development of new storage infrastructure across India; financial terms were not disclosed.
Why it matters
A majority investment can finance consolidation and expansion of liquid and gas storage/logistics capacity at strategic ports, which affects supply chains for fuels, chemicals and other bulk liquids.
