RBI approves amalgamation of Emirates NBD’s India branches into RBL Bank from 1 Dec 2026

The Reserve Bank of India has sanctioned a scheme of amalgamation under which Emirates NBD Bank P.J.S.C.’s three Indian branches will be merged into RBL Bank. RBI said that from 1 December 2026, all Indian branches of Emirates NBD will function as branches of RBL Bank.
Why it matters
This consolidates Emirates NBD’s Indian branch operations under RBL Bank, changing how those branches operate and are regulated within India’s banking system.
