South Central Railway to run special Nanded–Sawantwadi Road trains on four dates

South Central Railway announced special trains (07659/07660) between Nanded and Sawantwadi Road to handle Ganesh festival passenger demand. Services are scheduled from Nanded on September 12 and 15, 2026 and from Sawantwadi Road on September 14 and 17, 2026, with multiple intermediate halts; SCR said the rake will have 24 coaches.
Why it matters
The temporary service adds a direct rail option between parts of Marathwada and the Konkan region during peak festive travel, reducing the need for en-route train changes.
