NHSRCL reports 74 km of piers completed on Maharashtra elevated stretch of bullet train

NHSRCL said construction is underway on the 135.45-km elevated stretch of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor in Maharashtra (Shilphata in Thane to Zaroli near the Maharashtra–Gujarat border). The release said about 74 km of piers have been completed, and 3 of 7 planned mountain tunnels on this section have achieved breakthrough, with further finishing works in progress.
Why it matters
Completing piers and tunnel breakthroughs advances civil works needed before viaduct girder launching and track-related works can proceed on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor.
