Coal rake loading to the power sector rose about 20% from Sept 3–6, 2026

The Coal Ministry said coal rake loading for supply to the power sector increased by about 20% between September 3 and September 6, 2026, rising from 370 rakes/day (Sept 3) to 444 rakes/day (Sept 6). It also reported Coal India’s daily coal production reached about 1.83 million tonnes on September 6 (about 35% higher than the first three days of the month) and average daily dispatch to the power sector increased to 1.7 million tonnes (up 24%) over the same period.
