MeitY says multiple electronics component plants will start operations in coming months

A MeitY official said electronics component facilities being set up by Kaynes Circuits, Dixon Technologies, Motherson Group, Wipro Global, USAM Technology and Secure Circuits are expected to begin operations over the coming months, with timelines ranging from about 1 month to around 6 months for specific plants. The same briefing said ATL’s Li-ion cell units at Rewari and Sohna and Tata Electronics’ enclosure plant in Hosur are already operational.
Why it matters
If these facilities begin operations as indicated, they would add domestic capacity for electronics components such as PCBs, enclosures, and display/camera modules, supporting local electronics manufacturing supply chains.
