Road transport ministry approved draft BS-VII emission norm guidelines for vehicles

A senior government official said the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved proposed guidelines to roll out BS-VII emission standards. The official said BS-VII is targeted for new cars and SUVs from April 2029, with small goods delivery and pick-up vans from April 2030 and heavy-duty vehicles from April 2031, and draft notifications are expected this week.
