India notifies 375 permissible works under VB-G RAM G rural employment framework
The Ministry of Rural Development notified a schedule of 375 permissible works under the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB-G RAM G) Gramin Act, 2025, expanding the list of allowed works by 41% compared with the previous scheme. The works are grouped into water security, core rural infrastructure, livelihood-related infrastructure, and a new category for disaster preparedness and extreme weather events, and will be planned via Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans approved by Gram Sabhas with digital tracking through a national infrastructure stack, according to the ministry.
Notifying the permissible-works schedule changes what types of assets and infrastructure can be created under the rural guaranteed-wage employment framework, including adding a dedicated disaster-preparedness category and expanding livelihood-related works.
