MeitY gives in-principle approval for an AI Centre of Excellence in Bhubaneswar

A proposed Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence (AI-CoE) in Bhubaneswar has received in-principle approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is set to implement the centre under the IndiaAI Mission and has confirmed Hyderabad-based Blue Cloud Softech Solutions as industry partner, with a proposed ₹4 crore financial contribution under a definitive MoU yet to be executed.
Why it matters
The approval and implementation setup moves the Bhubaneswar AI-CoE closer to becoming an operational platform for AI startup incubation and applied deployments in sectors such as healthcare, governance and disaster management in Odisha.
