Commercial chip production began at plants in Mohali and Surat, ET reports

At Semicon 2026, the Prime Minister said made-in-India chips have started reaching global markets and welcomed the start of commercial production at chip plants in Mohali and Surat. The remarks also referenced 12 semiconductor plants approved under the first phase of the India Semiconductor Mission.
