Chennai, Tamil Nadu20 Oct 2026

A.P. Moller–Maersk said its Singapore-flagged container vessel Maersk Chattogram is scheduled to enter L&T Shipbuilding’s Kattupalli Shipyard near Chennai in October 2026 for planned drydocking, including a special survey and maintenance/overhaul work. Maersk said the vessel is expected to arrive on October 20, 2026, subject to operational and weather conditions, marking its first planned drydocking in India and the first operational milestone linked to the Maersk–L&T MoU signed during India Maritime Week 2025.

Why it matters

If executed as scheduled, this places an international container vessel’s planned drydocking and survey work at an Indian yard, signalling utilization of domestic ship-repair capability for global operators.
