TDB signed ₹200 crore RDI Fund support agreement with Agnikul for Agnibaan RLV

The Technology Development Board (under the Department of Science and Technology) signed an agreement to provide ₹200 crore in financial support to Chennai-based Agnikul Cosmos Pvt Ltd for development of a reusable version of its Agnibaan launch vehicle. The support is via the RDI Fund through optionally convertible debentures, intended to advance the technology from TRL 4+ to TRL 8.
Why it matters
If achieved, the funding-backed development could move Agnikul’s reusable launch vehicle technologies closer to deployment, enabling more frequent launches with potential cost reductions and lower space debris.
