Chennai to start ₹41-crore stormwater drain link from Otteri Nullah to Cooum river

The Greater Chennai Corporation is expected to start construction of a stormwater drain network connecting Otteri Nullah Zero Point to the Cooum river along Jawaharlal Nehru Salai, as announced in the Tamil Nadu Budget for the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department. The project is estimated to cost ₹41 crore and is intended to mitigate flooding in western Chennai areas including Villivakkam, Ambattur, Korattur, Padi and Anna Nagar West.
