IITM Unicorn Frontier Fund I marks first close at ₹450 Cr; ~₹55 Cr deployed in 4 startups

IIT Madras, IIT Madras Research Park, and Unicorn India Ventures announced the first close of their deeptech-focused IITM Unicorn Frontier Fund I at ₹450 Cr. The fund has already deployed nearly ₹55 Cr across four startups: Hathor, Quanastra, Triolt Energy, and Carbelim, according to the report.
Why it matters
A first close and initial deployments commit capital to early-stage deeptech ventures, enabling proof-of-concept and lab validation work that can translate into domestic technology capabilities.
