Samara Capital buys stakes in ARC and Calyx to form an integrated logistics platform

Samara Capital said it has created an integrated logistics platform by acquiring stakes in Associated Road Carriers (ARC) and Calyx Container Terminals (Calyx), a container freight station serving Chennai Port. An industry source cited by Mint said Samara invested close to ₹1,200 crore, with promoters and the firm holding almost equal stakes in the new entity; the company did not disclose financial details.
Why it matters
The deal commits capital to expand logistics network capacity and capabilities (branch/hub expansion, first/last-mile and technology upgrades) by combining a road-transport network with an EXIM-focused container facility.
