Tamil Nadu raised CM Comprehensive Health Insurance cover to ₹25 lakh per year

Tamil Nadu announced an increase in annual coverage under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme from ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh. The state also announced plans to establish a 400-bed multispeciality hospital in Perambur, add 6,098 seats across nursing/pharmacy/paramedical courses (including seven new government nursing colleges), and set up/upgrade government cancer-care facilities.
Why it matters
Higher insurance cover and planned expansion of public facilities can increase access to higher-cost treatment and add capacity for care and health workforce training in the state.
