Tamil Nadu expands Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme to Classes VI–VIII in govt schools

Tamil Nadu launched the expansion of the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme to cover students in Classes VI to VIII in government and government-aided schools across the State on September 22, 2026. The expanded coverage is stated to benefit about 15.3 lakh students in 15,454 schools, with breakfast prepared via centralised kitchens in urban areas and by self-help groups in many rural schools.
