Southern Railway lengthened five Mettupalayam–Coimbatore/Podanur MEMU trains to 12 cars

Southern Railway added four coaches to five MEMU services on the Mettupalayam–Coimbatore/Podanur route, increasing each train’s composition to 12 cars. The change took effect from Monday, according to the report.

Longer trainsets increase passenger carrying capacity on a busy commuter corridor, especially during peak-hour crowding.
