Maruti Suzuki dispatched a vehicle rake by rail to Pollachi Railway Terminal

Maruti Suzuki said an automobile rake carrying 120 vehicles reached Pollachi Railway Terminal in Tamil Nadu, marking its first rail-based vehicle dispatch to that terminal. The rake was flagged off from the company’s Manesar in-plant railway siding on 2026-08-18, after Maruti Suzuki worked with Indian Railways to operationalise Pollachi for rail vehicle dispatches.
Why it matters
Using Pollachi as a rail dispatch point adds logistics capacity for vehicle deliveries in southern Tamil Nadu and supports shifting outbound transport from road to rail.
