BHEL Feeder Road widening to four lanes underway in Ranipet; completion targeted by Dec

Tamil Nadu’s State Highways Department is executing work to widen the 4-km BHEL Feeder Road in Ranipet town into a four-lane road with paved shoulders. The ₹26 crore project, funded under CRIDP 2025-26, is reported as ongoing and the department aims to complete it by December; it also includes items such as street lights, footpaths, reflectors, signboards and pedestrian crossings.
Why it matters
Widening this heavily used corridor (reported at over 28,000 vehicles/day) is intended to reduce congestion and improve safety for motorists and pedestrians while improving access to industrial areas and key public facilities in Ranipet district.
