VOC Port in Thoothukudi began new container service linking China and Vietnam

VO Chidambaranar Port (Thoothukudi/Tuticorin) started a new container shipping service connecting southern China and Vietnam, operated by Regional Container Line (RCL). The service commenced with the arrival of the Singapore-flagged MV Nawata Bhum at Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT), with a route including Qinzhou, Haiphong, Thoothukudi, Kattupalli and Chu Lai.
Why it matters
A direct container service adds maritime connectivity for exporters and importers in southern Tamil Nadu and provides an additional route for moving export containers via Kattupalli for onward transshipment.
