Land acquisition completed for 20.5-km Vellore Town Bypass Road project

National Highways officials said the land acquisition process has been completed for 123 hectares across 13 farming villages for the ₹1,047-crore greenfield Vellore Town Bypass Road in Vellore district, Tamil Nadu. The planned 20.50-km four-lane bypass is to connect Latteri near Katpadi with Nelvoy near the CMC campus on the outskirts of Vellore.
Why it matters
Completing land acquisition removes a major pre-construction hurdle for the bypass intended to divert heavy vehicles away from Katpadi and reduce congestion in Vellore town.
