Dr. Reddy’s launched Nivorz (nivolumab biosimilar) in India after DCGI approval

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories said it launched Nivorz in India, a biosimilar of Bristol Myers Squibb’s Opdivo (nivolumab), marking its entry into the biosimilar immuno-oncology therapy segment. The company said Nivorz was developed and manufactured in-house at its biologics facility in Bachupally, Hyderabad, and has been approved in India by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) based on a multi-country clinical programme involving 288 patients.
Why it matters
An India-approved nivolumab biosimilar can increase availability of immunotherapy options and potentially improve access to checkpoint inhibitor treatment for cancer patients.
