South Central Railway reports 1,481 km of new-line/doubling/tripling works under progress

South Central Railway said 1,481 km of new-line, doubling and tripling projects worth ₹24,210.179 crore are currently under progress in its zone. The update was given by SCR during a meeting with MPs from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka constituencies under its jurisdiction, according to an SCR press release cited by PTI.
Why it matters
These line-capacity works can increase route capacity and reduce bottlenecks for passenger and freight movement across the South Central Railway network once completed.
