Secunderabad–Wadi 3rd/4th railway line project sanctioned (₹5,102 crore)

South Central Railway’s 173-km Secunderabad–Wadi third and fourth line project, estimated at ₹5,102 crore, has been sanctioned, according to The Hindu’s report citing the latest status of SCR DPRs/FLS. The project includes a third line between Sanatnagar–Hafizpet and third/fourth lines between Hafizpet–Wadi to ease congestion on the network.
Why it matters
Adding additional lines on this corridor is intended to increase rail capacity and reduce congestion for passenger and freight movement in the Secunderabad–Wadi section.
