UltraTech Cement launched Ultravolt wires and cables business with ₹1,800 crore plan

UltraTech Cement launched its wires and cables business brand, Ultravolt, and said it plans to invest ₹1,800 crore (18 billion rupees). The company also said it plans to set up a new manufacturing plant in Gujarat and is preparing for a nationwide retail rollout across more than 100,000 retailers.
Why it matters
This marks UltraTech’s entry into a new manufacturing segment and, if executed, would add domestic production capacity for wires and cables alongside a large-scale distribution rollout.
