Chhata traction substation became operational for 160 kmph upgrades on Palwal–Mathura

Indian Railways commissioned a new traction substation at Chhata, which became operational on 2026-09-07, to provide a stronger and more stable power supply for higher-speed train operations. The facility supports Mission Raftaar upgrades aimed at enabling up to 160 kmph operations on the 84-km Palwal–Mathura section on the New Delhi–Mumbai route, with remaining works targeted for completion by 2026-09-30.
