Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved UP Artificial Intelligence Mission and Startup Procurement Scheme 2026
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the Uttar Pradesh Artificial Intelligence Mission (UP-AIM) to be set up as an independent society under the state IT and Electronics Department, with stated targets including supporting at least 100 AI startups, training five lakh AI-skilled youth, and developing AI applications for governance and public services. The Cabinet also approved the Uttar Pradesh Startup Procurement Scheme, 2026, which enables eligible startups to access direct government procurement up to ₹50 lakh (and up to ₹1 crore for specified sectors) and proposes a dedicated UP Startup e-Marketplace.
If implemented as designed, these approvals create an institutional vehicle (UP-AIM) and procurement pathways that can let startups pilot and sell solutions to government departments and support AI skill development in the state.
