Land acquisition completed for Manikpur–Iradatganj third rail line in Prayagraj

Indian Railways issued the final gazette notification for the 84-km Manikpur–Iradatganj third line project under North Central Railway, completing acquisition of 366,877 sq m (36.68 hectares) of land in Prayagraj and transferring ownership to the Central government, free of legal encumbrances. The notification also clears the way for compensation payments to affected farmers and landowners.

Completing land acquisition removes a key execution bottleneck, enabling faster construction progress on a capacity augmentation project on the congested Prayagraj–Mumbai rail corridor.
