Indian Railways approved ₹223 crore for deployment of Kavach Version 4.0 (automatic train protection system) across 614.75 route kilometres in the Varanasi division of North Eastern Railway, according to a Ministry of Railways statement. The project is intended to extend Kavach 4.0 coverage to the remaining identified sections of the division.
