Makaibari (Luxmi Group) to buy 10,000 kg/year tea leaves from Darjeeling small growers

Makaibari Tea Estate, owned by the Luxmi Group, announced a partnership with small tea growers across Darjeeling to create a new brand segment, “Makaibari Collective”. Under the initiative, Makaibari will purchase 10,000 kg of tea leaves annually from small growers, with a stated goal to source 25% of its requirement from them and share profits equally; tea quality and pricing for the Collective will be independently evaluated by J. Thomas & Company.
