Foundation laid for five expansion projects at GRSE and Yantra India facilities in West Bengal

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) and Yantra India Limited (YIL) held a Bhumi Pujan/foundation stone-laying ceremony for five expansion projects in West Bengal—three at GRSE facilities (Kidderpore, Shalimar and Raichak) and two at YIL’s Metal and Steel Factory, Ishapore—reported as involving a combined investment of around ₹3,500 crore.
Why it matters
If executed as planned, these expansions are intended to increase shipbuilding/ship-repair capacity and strengthen indigenous metallurgical and precision manufacturing capability.
